Neil has 25 years of experience of senior management roles in various companies in the Shell Group including
working in Japan as Representative Director and Deputy Chief Executive of Showa Shell Sekiyu KK. From
2000 to 2003, he was Shell Group Treasurer, responsible for all financing policies, funding and financial risk
management and a director of Shell International Limited. He is currently a non-executive director of several
companies including Wellstream Group Plc and Chairman of Aberdeen All Asia Investment Trust PLC. He is
a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics
from the London School of Economics, of which he is also a Governor. Neil joined the Board in June 2009 and
became Chairman in July of that year. He also chairs the Board’s audit committee, nominations committee and
remuneration committee.
John Gunn
John is a director of a number of quoted and unquoted companies including Rotala plc, Capital Accumulation
Limited and Healthcare Enterprises plc. He is also the founder and a director of Wengen Limited. He was
formerly chief executive officer of Exco International plc and chairman of Telerate Inc and British and
Commonwealth plc. John joined the Board at the time of the Company’s admission to AIM in August 2004 and
served as Chairman until July 2009. He also serves on the Board’s audit committee, nominations committee and
remuneration committee. John retires by rotation at this year’s AGM and a resolution is included for his
re-election.
Gillian Leates
Gill brings with her a wealth of public market experience having served as Investment Director on the main
board of Majedie Investments PLC. She also served as a non-executive director of Majedie Asset Management
Limited where she played a key role in setting up the UK pension fund management business in 2002 which
now manages approximately £4 billion. Gill joined the Board in June 2009 and also serves on the Board’s audit
committee, nominations committee and remuneration committee.
Mark McNamara
Mark’s experience and background are in the engineering technology and environmental services field, providing
contracting, project management and technology management services. He managed the construction and
subsequent commissioning of the first Hydrodec plant in Australia in 2004. Previously he was employed
for ten years by the Clough Engineering group and was responsible for the formation, strategic direction
and management of their environment technology and engineering subsidiary. He has a Bachelor of Applied
Science (Chemistry). Mark joined the Board in December 2004 at the time of the Company’s acquisition of the
Hydrodec technology originally as Chief Operating Officer and assumed the role of CEO in August 2005. He
also serves on the Board’s nominations committee.
Paul Manchester
Paul has significant senior management experience, with a particular focus on cost management, controlling and business planning.
He is also experienced in acquisition, strategy direction, project management and restructuring activities.
Prior to joining Hydrodec, he spent 10 years in construction and facilities management operations.
Paul is a qualified accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University, New Zealand.
Paul was originally appointed as Group Financial Controller in September 2009 before assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer in January 2010.
He joined the Board as Finance Director in July 2010.
Stephen Harker
Stephen is responsible for all aspects of the Group's transformer oil operations including feedstock procurement, product sales and plant operations.
He has a distinguished 30 year career in international marketing, including lubricants, with BP/Castrol, Shell and Caltex, with a period as Managing Director of Croda Application Chemicals and Chairman of BP Poland.
He has a track record of delivering profit improvement in mature and emerging markets for large and medium sized lubricant companies.
Stephen has post-graduate Diplomas in Management Studies, Marketing, Accounting and Finance and a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies (Distinctions in Marketing and Accounting).
Stephen was appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2010 and joined the Board in July 2010.
