Greenhouse gas savings
Each tonne of transformer oil refined through the Hydrodec system represents a direct saving of several tonnes of CO
2 emissions. Hydrodec's refining technology utilizes used transformer oils, normally destined for low value secondary fuel uses, and recovers greater than 99% as premium grade new transformer oil. Using Hydrodec products, customers can lead the world in prevention of greenhouse emissions from the disposal of used mineral oils.
Resource conservation and independence
Each tonne of oil refined through the Hydrodec system represents greater than one tonne of limited global crude oil reserves conserved. Conservation of crude oil also represents a further net CO
2 saving through the avoidance of crude oil refining processes
Fewer hazardous chemicals
With the prevalence of low levels of PCB in used transformer oils, each tonne of transformer oil refined through the Hydrodec system represents significant reduction in the background emission to atmosphere of PCB, PCB like chemicals and Dioxin. With no by-products and the de-minimus emission performance of the Hydrodec system, each tonne of oil refined through Hydrodec represents the avoidance of crude oil refining wastes; refining by products, wastewater and air emissions; and secondary fuel incineration emissions.
